Uganda’s Netball team, the She Cranes, have dropped to eighth in the latest World Netball Rankings released on Wednesday.
In November last year, the She Cranes had slipped to seventh in rankings released then.
And the latest drop is once again attributed to the team’s inability to be in action.
Since November last year, the She Cranes has not been able to take part in Ranking games due to a fine imposed on Uganda Netball Federation after the team’s withdrawal from the World Cup qualifiers in South Africa.
But in last month’s UNF AGM, President Sarah Babirye Kityo confirmed that Government has cleared the arrears and the She Cranes will be back in action soon this year.
The She Cranes is expected to play a couple of friendlies before the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa.
The seventh place has now been taken by Tonga, the only change among the top 16.
The top six teams remain static with Australia still atop of the log and closely followed by New Zealand England, Jamaica, South Africa and Malawi in that order.
