KCCA FC are planning to host their first ever game under floodlights.
The Club CEO Anisha Muhoozi earlier told this website that they are looking at their next home game in the league which is Maroons.
And there is more time to prepare for this given that Maroons will visit Lugogo in a month time with the game scheduled on Saturday, 1st April 2023.
Four floodlights masts have been installed at the Club home ground Omondi Stadium, Lugogo which is also under refurbishment.
The deal to host floodlight games was agreed last year after the club acquired CHINT Electronics as their shirt sponsor.
The Club expects Night games to increase the number of fans who watch their games as many are caught up with work during day-time games.
“We have to reconfirm with our engineer yet again but it should be our next home game which is Maroons. We hope to get clearance once testing is done,” CEO Anisha Muhoozi earlier told this Website.
Shirah Nakagwa, who works with FUFA Club Licensing, said that they are yet to get a request from KCCA FC to host night games.
KCCA who lead the league log with 35 points, four above BUL FC, will not be in action this match week 18, but visit Vipers on March 19 at Kitende in what will be a night game awaiting official communication.
The Lugogo side will however host Mbarara City in the Uganda Cup next week.
UPL last had night football in the 2018/19 season, with games played at Namboole under floodlights, a stadium that is currently under renovation.
It should be noted that Vipers hosted Simba under floodlights last week in CAF Champions League.
