West Nile Regional League: Paidha BA Fined, Banned

Paidha Black Angels have been fined and suspended by the West Nile Region Football Association Competitions Disciplinary panel.

This comes after the Paidha Derby between hosts Paidha Black Angels and Paidha United that was abandoned in the 88th minute on Sunday 12th February at Bar Okoro Stadium.

Tekakwo James gave Paidha United the lead in the 87th minute but the hosts fans turned violent pelting stones and bottles in the field questioning referees decisions including allowing the goal to stand.

Police took control of the situation with tear gas and gunshots to dispatch the angry fans.

According to the verdict, Paidha Black Angels loses the match in question by forfeiture.

The Blacks have also been fined 1M Shillings payable to the regions’ Bank account not later than 28th February 2023.

The CEO of Paidha Black Angels Mr Yahya Bakhit have been fined Ugshs.500,000 payable not later than 28th February.

The club will also host their next four home games in Maracha District at an already approved venue and games shall be played behind closed doors.

However, the panel has also fined Paidha United Head Coach Mr Chancely Morgan ugshs. 200,000 for unsporting behavior to be paid not later than 28th February.

Oromchan Villa’s side who were left with four home games will have to shift to Maracha.

However, Paidha Black Angels have announced that they will appeal the decision therefore the match with Nebbi Central that was scheduled for this Sunday at Bar Okoro have been postponed.

They sit third in the Nyagak group with 24 points after 13 matches.

This is a huge blow for Paidha Black Angels in their quest for promotion to the Big League.
