Preview: KCCA Seek To Stretch Lead

KCCA FC will be hoping to extend their lead at the top when they welcome Arua Hill in a league clash at Lugogo.

The Hosts lead the standings with 32 points, three above BUL who were held at Bombo on Tuesday.

But against Arua Hill, KCCA FC face a side that beat them 3-1 in the first round of the season, October last year to be more specific.

Goals from Isaac Ogwang, Rashid Toha and Rashid Kawawa were enough to help Arua Hill overcome KCCA.

KCCA FC pulled a goal back when Bright Vuni headed into his own net but it was just a consolation.

And Coach Morley Byekwaso has predicted a tougher encounter against Livingston Mbabazi’s charges.

“We know it’s going to be a hard game, but if we really want to be on top and be champions, we have to win this game,” Byekwaso said.

“Mbabazi has a resilient team, but we shall play the way we play, and we shall take the game to them. It’s not going to be a walk over this is a difficult league.”

KCCA opened the second round a win over Wakiso Giants, and extended their winning run to Uganda Cup after thrashing Kataka FC 3-0 to storm the round of 16.

Arua Hill on the other hand, will be in action for the first time in the second round.

Their only competitive match this year came in a penalty shootout exit in the Uganda Cup against minnows Elite FC of Lira.

It’s strong to note that Arua Hill and KCCA played a goalless draw at Lugogo last season.
