*Kataka FC Vs KCCA – 4pm
Uganda Premier League leaders KCCA will seek to cement the remaining place in the Uganda Cup round of 16 as they visit Kataka at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
The Kasasiro Boys will have to up their game in order to avoid falling victims in the hands of the Big League side.
A number of top flight teams have been knocked out by the lower teams.
Arua Hill, URA, UPDF, Maroons, Busoga United have all faced the wrath of the underdogs.
Going into this match, Morley Byekwaso is aware of the threats that Kataka posed on KCCA under Mike Mutebi in April 2017.
The visitors dug very deep to overcome the hosts 2-5 courtesy of Brian Majwega brace, Paul Mucureezi, Derrick Nsibambi and an own goal while Junior Amanya and Nassur Nandala had given Kataka an halftime lead.
“We are going to face a hard team that plays a very physical game,” Byekwaso told the club media.
“We have all witnessed what has happened to fellow premier league teams against lower sides.
“We played them four seasons ago and they gave us a very hard time, we know how good they’re when playing in Mbale.
“We need to work very hard to progress to the round of 16.”
KCCA may hand debuts to new signings left back Mustafa Kizza and striker Hassan Mubiru.
The Club will also welcome back Benjamin Ochan and Ashraf Mugume after missing the previous league game against Wakiso Giants due to illness.
Defender Peter Magambo is part of the squad in Mbale but Geoffrey Wasswa (suspension) and John Revita (injury) are out.
Goals from Rogers Mato, Charles Lwanga and substitute Moses Waiswa inspired KCCA to a 3-0 victory at KJT at Bugolobi Coffee Ground in the previous round.
Last season, KCCA was eliminated in this same round by Bright Stars thanks to a 1-0 home defeat.
For Kataka FC, they are the clear underdogs in this tie but they will have to put that behind.
The Mbale based side will rely on home advantage.
Kataka had lost to Gorilla Highlands in the round of 64 but they successfully petitioned FUFA after the latter fielded an ineligible player.
Last season the same scenario also happened when Kataka lost 1-0 to Rusekere Growers in the Round of 64 but they petitioned after Rusekere used ineligible player.
They were later ejected by Vipers 3-0 in the Round 16.
