Mbarara City 2-0 Jinja North United
Mbarara City beat Jinja North United after two second half goals to move top of the FUFA Big League table at Kakyeka stadium.
Jude Ssemugabi and Henry Kitegenyi were on target for the Ankole Lions to put them one point clear at the summit.
Sadiq Sempiji’s charges put an end to their two games winless run after two consecutive draws.
This is the result that Mbarara City needed after both Kitara FC and NEC dropped points.

The hosts were the better side throughout the game and were unlucky to end the first half goalless.
Ssemugabi and Kitegenyi were the biggest threats to the visitors in the opening stanza with the former’s header coming off the woodwork.
The hosts came back into the second half more hungry and clinical and it took them just ten minutes to take a deserved lead.
Ssemugabi broke the deadlock in the 56th minute after beating two defenders before rounding off the Goalkeeper to put his side infront.
Six minutes later, Kitegenyi doubled the hosts’ lead in the 62nd minute following a long ball from Ibrahim Tembo that was controlled by Ssemugabi to set up the scorer.
The Ankole Lions could have added more goals but they were let down by poor finishing.
The win sends Mbarara City top of the log with 34 points after 17 games while Jinja North United are 11th with 20 points.
