•Vipers (Uganda) Vs Horoya (Guinea) – 4pm
•Simba (Tanzania) Vs Raja Casablanca(Morocco) – 7pm
Vipers SC have expressed their readiness ahead of their first home game in the CAF Champions League.
The Venoms welcome Guinea champions Horoya at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende in what promises to be a pulsating affair.
Vipers coach Beto Bianchi, who will also be in charge of his first home game, has rallied his players to forget the result in Casablanca.
The Ugandan champions were well beaten, falling 5-0 against Raja last week on their CAF Champions League debut.
“We should quickly forget the first match against Raja Casablanca, and must now focus on what lies ahead of us,” Beto is quoted.
““It doesn’t help us to keep thinking of what has already happened, because we still have five games to play in the group stages, so the focus should be on getting the best results possible.
““We have worked well, I have seen better reaction from the players during training, the intensity is good and am confident that our preparations give us an advantage against Horoya Athletic Club.”
The Venoms are yet to hit top form under Beto after the side once again needed shootouts to progress past Jinja North United in Stanbic Uganda Cup.
And they will be without Lumala Abdu and Marvin Youngman due to injuries while Striker Karim Ndugwa remains cap-tied having featured for BUL in CAF Confederation Cup.
Horoya beat Simba 1-0 last weekend to get off the mark – Striker Pape Ndiaye, who missed the penalty on the day, scored the only goal on the day for the Guinean champions.
Horoya are a more experienced side in this competition having gone past the group stages twice.
