SC Villa will be going for revenge when they meet holders BUL FC in the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Friday.

BUL eliminated SC Villa in last year’s quarterfinals before going all the way to lifting their first ever title.

Ibrahim Nsimbe scored an extra-time winner as BUL FC came from down to beat the Jogoos then.

Saddam Masereka had put SC Villa in the lead just after 15 minutes before Karim Ndugwa headed in the equaliser.

And SC Villa who last won the Uganda Cup in 2015, are hoping to clinch their 10th title this season.

SC Villa coach Jackson Magera noted: “They (BUL) are the defending champions that is enough to make it a tough game but it is also motivation because if you win such tournaments you have to beat the best teams.”

This is the second meeting this season after BUL beat SC Villa 1-0 in the league.

Richard Wandyaka scored the only goal of the game in October last year.

“It is going to be a good game to watch because the opponents have improved so much this season and are playing well,” BUL FC coach Alex Isabirye said.

“They are a historical club in Uganda and this very tournament because they are one of the teams that have won it the most times.”

“We respect them but we are ready to battle them and we have trained for a couple of days now with all our minds focused on the game,”

BUL reached this stage after knocking out Sparks, with Hilary Onek scoring the only goal of the game, in a game played at Kirondo Playgrounds in Mukono.

SC Villa on the other hand, eliminated Kampala Regional League side Kireka United with a 6-0 Kings Park in Bweyogerere.
