Kenya beat Rwanda 69-58 to pick their second win at the ongoing FIBA Zone V Women Afrobasket Qualifiers in Kampala.
Rwanda who trailed 17-05 after the first quarter, pulled the game to within four points at halftime.
And Kenya were up by two heading into the last round before staging a strong last quarter which they won 21-12 to clinch a 11-point victory.


Mercy Wanyama led by example, filling the stat sheet with 16 points, 9 rebounds and three assists.
Victoria Reynolds and Melissa Otieno had 15 and 12 points respectively for George Mayienga’s side.
Point Guard Odile Tetero ran the show for Rwanda with a game high 18 points while Diamond Richardson added 10 points.
Rwanda who missed a whooping 50 shots from 69 attempts, turned over the ball 31 times against Kenya’s 25.
They will return to action against wounded Egypt while Kenya face South Sudan on Friday in the last game.
