Vipers will turn their focus to Stanbic Uganda Cup when they face off with Big League side Jinja North United at the round of 32 at Kakindu stadium.

The Venoms will be seeking a quick response after enduring a long night on their CAF Champions League debut against Raja Casablanca.

Hamza Khabba, Jamal Harkass, Mohamed Zrida, Yousri Bouzouk and Roger Aholou scored a goal each as Vipers were beaten 5-0 in Morocco last weekend.

And they will hope to use the game against Jinja United as part of their preparations ahead of a CAF Champions League tie against Horoya over the Weekend at Kitende.

Karim Ndugwa is back in the squad after missing the trip to Morocco and so is Najib Yiga.

Lumala Abdu picked a knock against Raja and remains rules out while the trip comes too early for Marvin Joseph Youngman.

Goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora is expected to start ahead of Alfred Mudekereza who was poor against Raja.

Mutombora saved two penalties as Vipers eliminated Regional League side Bujjumbura at the round of 64.

Bright Anukani, Disan Galiwango, Ahmed Desire Tety, and Ashraf Mandela scored the four penalties for the Venoms to reach this stage.

Vipers who have reached the finals of this competition for the last two editions, will have to take this competition very serious as it’s a ticket to CAF Confederation Cup for any winner.

The Venoms are third on the log with 27 points, five below leaders KCCA FC, with a game in hand.

Opponents and hosts Jinja North United who are newcomers in FUFA Big League, are currently 10th on the log and come into this tie after falling to Ndejje University FC in their previous league game.

They eliminated Busei (Iganda) – the Busoga derby – in the Round of 64 to storm this stage.
