Tuesday, February 14
•South Sudan Vs Egypt – 5:30pm
•Uganda Vs Kenya – 8pm

Uganda’s final team for the Zone V Championship has been named.

Three players including experienced Small Forward Zainah Lokwameri have been dropped.

Small forward Agatha Kamwanda (UCU Lady Canons) and Guard Peruth Nyamwenge (KIU Rangers) are the other released players.

Uganda will face Kenya in their opening game while South Sudan and Egypt meet in the day’s opener on Tuesday.

Lokwameri is a surprise exclusion having been part of the national set up for over the past six years.

The former UCU and JKL star averaged 15 points, six rebounds and three assists to help JT Lady Jaguars earn top flight promotion without dropping a game.

The development leaves Leticia Awor as the remaining Small Forward on the team, with Naturalised Jannon Otto expected to fly in tonight.

Maria Najjuma joined the team Sunday and was part of the Practice session.

Shakirah Nanvubya, Bridget Aber and Youngster Shilla Lamunu have made the final team and will be looking forward to leaving a mark on their debut.

Rwanda who already qualified as Afrobasket hosts, is the other participant for the five-team tournament.

Final Squad – Evelyn Nakiyingi (JKL), Shakira Nanvubya (UCU), Flavia Oketcho (JKL), Ritah Imanishimwe (JKL), Ekone Brenda (JKL), Shilla Lamunu (Magic Stormers), Leticia Awor (KCCA Leopards), Akello Hope (JKL), Bridget Aber (UCU), Sarah Ageno (JT Lady Jaguars), Jannon Otto (Luxembourg), Maria Najjuma (United States).
