Team Work Key To Finish Job In Second Round – Mato

KCCA FC winner Rogers Mato says that team work will be key for his side to clinch the title this season.

KCCA finished the first round atop the Uganda Premier League log with 29 points, two above holders Vipers and BUL.

The Lugogo-based side start their second away from home as they visit Wakiso Giants on Thursday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium

“It’s going to be a tricky second round, if you look at the top four, it’s a narrow gap. About one or two points separate the sides. But I believe we have done enough preparations as a team to win the title,” Mato said on Wednesday.

“Individually, I need to work hard, but Football is a team sport so we have to work as a team to get results. There is also a saying that we rise by lifting others.

” I have confidence in my teammates and I feel we are ready to face off with anyone who comes our way. We want to play each game like it’s a final”

Mato vowed to use his CHAN experience to help his side stay afloat having been part of the Uganda Cranes team in Morocco recently.

“With the little experience and lessons I have got, I have shared it with my teammates and will show it on the pitch.

KCCA FC blew chances last season to surrender the title as they finished a distant 18-point away in second.

“We are mentally and physically stable this time, we had challenges last time but now are are good to go.

“I want to score more goals because they boost the confidence levels, but my top target is to help KCCA win the title.”
