Boxer Shadir Musa Bwogi was among the five winners as ForteBet Real Stars Awards continued to reward excellence.
The awards that recognised the best of January and sponsored by Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions, were held at Route 256 bar in Lugogo, Kampala on Tuesday.
Shadir was named the Best Boxer of the month ahead of Yusuf Babu and Abdul Aziz Ssebulime.
He deservedly took the gong home after beating Ivan Magumba by knockout in the fight that lasted 2 minutes and 51 seconds in Super Welterweight title at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Henry Nsekuye of Makerere Impis beat Aaron Ofoyrwoth (Heathens) and Ivan Magomu (Pirates) to best Rugby player of January.
Nsekuye, by the end of January, was the leading Top scorer with 43 points and collected two Man of the Match of Performances (Vs Hippos and Mongers) in the Rugby Premier League.
Ronald Lutaaya helped Itanda Kayakers win the Waterfalls Elite T20 Men’s Edition last month at Lugogo Cricket Oval including scoring a century in the final against Bujjagali Rafters.
He beat Proscovia Alako (Bujjagali) and Janet Mbabazi (Sipi Trekkers) who were outstanding in the Women Division.
Waleed Omar (MX 125 CC) edged Miguel Katende and Wazir Omar to best of Motocross award.
Rasheeda Mutesi beat Rukia Naiga and Ibrahim Ssejemba to the best Pool player award after becoming the first player to break and finish three games in one season in Ladies League history.
She notably guided the Mukono Ladies Pool team to their first league trophy, they defeated Upper Volta 12-8 and Scrap Buyers 11-9.
