Uganda Cup: URA FC Knocked Out

Uganda Pentecostal University FC have knocked out Uganda Premier League side URA FC 4-3 on penalties to progress to the round of 32.

After 90 minutes, the game had tied at 2-2 after an entertaining encounter in Fort Portal.

Abdallah Salim and Huud Mulikyi had scored for URA but Goodman Muhulizi and Taju Julius scored for the hosts on the day to force shootouts.

And in penalities, the Kitara Regional League side won 4-3 to send the Tax Collectors packing.

Saidi Kyeyune and Kokas Opejo missed from the spot for the Tax Collectors while Joseph Ssemujju, Nicholas Kabonge and Derrick Ndahiro converted from the spot.

It was a bad in office for URA FC, who have also endured a poor start first round in the Uganda Premier League.

They join other UPL sides like Maroons and Arua Hill who have been knocked out at this stage.

URA FC will now shift their focus to the Uganda Premier League as they visit Onduparaka FC in Arua as the UPL second round gets underway this week.

Pressure is now on head coach Sam Timbe to deliver starting with the trip to Arua as they seek to save their season.
