Maroons striker Fred Amaku and SC Villa tactician Jackson Magera have been named the best of December at the Pilsner UPL Awards.
At the function held at Kati Kati grounds in Lugogo on Friday, the two took Sh1m and a plaque home courtesy of Pilsner.
Amaku scored three goals in December – He scored the winner against Gaddafi in a game he was named man of the match.
He was on target against Onduparaka and had one assist in that very game that ended 2-2 in Bombo.
The Striker also scored a 94th minute equaliser after Express had scored a late goal through Ivan Mayanja at Luzira.
“I thank God for his protection, My Maroons team and teammates, UPL and other stakeholders,” started Amaku.
“I feel obviously happy for this because it has been one of my dreams. I want to continue working hard and hopefully I win this again.”
He beat Vipers winger Milton Karisa and Busoga United forward Laban Tibita.
The coach of the month award went to Jackson Magera who helped SC Villa collect 10 points out of a possible 12 in December.
Villa beat Blacks Power, Maroons and UPDF without conceding a goal, before a 1-1 draw against URA FC.
“It has not been easy to win this one because we are 15 coaches in the league and being named the best is a huge milestone,” Magera said.
“This is one of my greatest coaching achievement and it comes with huge motivation.”
Magera edged Alex Isabirye (BUL) and Morley Byekwaso (KCCA) to the award.
