Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC will commence their 2022/23 Stanbic Uganda Cup campaign on matchday 5 of the Round of 64 on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023.
Maroons visit Kampala Region side Kisugu United FC at Bugolobi Coffee Grounds at 2pm.
Maroons head coach Muhammad Ssenfuma has warned his players against underestimating their opponents.
“Of course, there is a gap in the leagues because Kisugu plays in the Regional League while we play in the Uganda Premier League,” Ssenfuma noted.
“But this does not mean anything because football is beyond where one plays and they can shock us on their best day.”
“Therefore we should not undermine them we expect to go all out and play well and hopefully we shall win and advance to the next stage.”
Maroons, beaten finalist in 1980, have added Brian Kayanja and Abel Eturude to their squad and will be hoping for a strong cup run.
