Uganda premier League side Maroons FC confirmed the signing of midfielder Abel Etrude and forward Brian Kayanja.
The two were officially unveiled on Tuesday 31st January, the deadline day of the just concluded transfer market.
Etrude joins the Luzira based club on a six months deal that is renewable after the end of the season.
Before his new move, the creative midfielder has been at Express ever since joining them in 2020.
During his time at Express, Etrude guided the side to the 2020/21 League title and also helped them win the Cecafa Kagame cup.
And by the time of his departure, he has been the vice captain but was affected by the knee injury that kept him out of action for the past months.
On the other side, Kayanja joins Maroons on a six month loan deal from KCCA FC.
He had joined the Lugogo based side way back in 2021 on a three year’s contract.
But he has been affected by injuries that have kept him out of action for a couple of seasons.
And the loan move to Maroons will surely help Kayanja regain his scoring touch again and also help him earn more game time.
At Maroons, he will be expected to boost the attacking force that has danger man Fred Amaku, who is the current league top scorer on seven goals.
After the end of the first round, Maroons finished 10th with 15 points and the addition of Etrude and Kayanja will boost their team as they seek to stay in the top flight league.
