Stanbic Uganda Cup: Vipers New Coach Bianchi In First Test

Vipers new coach Beto Bianchi will have his first test as his side take a long trip to Hoima to face Bujumbura at the Kibanjwa Primary Playground in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64.

Beto Bianchi, the Brazillian-Spaniard was unveiled this month and replaced Roberto Oliveira who joined Simba SC.

He has been at the club for less than three weeks, and he will be hoping to get his reign off t a good start.

“It’s not been long with the boys but l believe have prepared them enough to try and adopt to my philosophy,” Bianchi told the Club media.

“The philosophy may not be instant but we shall try to give our best in tomorrow’s match.

“We have had a good week of training: we trained well and we trained on a very aggressive level in the last couple of days.”

“Now, it’s up to us to play as we trained in the last couple of days.”

And he goes into his first match against a lesser known side, Bianchi will be without a couple of players.

Reliable Striker Yunus Sentamu who returned to training is not yet fit while captain Milton Karisa suffered a knock while with the Uganda Cranes at CHAN.

Siraje Sentamu and Najib Yiga missed the CHAN tournament with Cranes at the last hour and are not yet available for selection.

Marvin Youngman is also injured while new signing Martin Kizza has Malaria.

A couple of players who were also part of Cranes team in CHAN including Jack Komakech, Isa Mubiru, Ashraf Mandela, Hilary Mukundane, Karim Watambala, Ibrahim Orit, Bright Anukani may be rested due to fatigue.

But new signing Karim Ndugwa (BUL) is likely to mark his debut while Murushid Juuko, Livingston Mulondo and Dissan Galiwango have recovered and are available for selection.

And Kitara Regional League leaders Bujjumbura may see this as a chance to put up the biggest Cup upset.

Vipers are eyeing another trip to Uganda Cup final, having shared the last two with defending champions BUL.
