Uganda premier League side Vipers SC have promoted youngster Enock Luyima to the senior team.
Luyima, who plays as a left back has been elevated from St. Mary’s boarding School, Kitende (SMASK), a feeder side to Vipers.
The club said that Luyima impressed new head coach Beto Bianchi with his super qualities as a left back during the training sessions he has had with the senior team for the past weeks.
“Youngster Enock Luyima has been elevated to Vipers SC first team squad from our main feeder side, St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende (SMASK), reads the official statement from Vipers.
“The left back who has been training with us since coach Beto Bianchi arrived at St Mary’s Stadium caught the coach’s eye with his unusurping strength and special crossing prowess from his full back position.”
Luyima joined the SMASK team last year in January 2022 from Rays of Grace academy that is located in Njeru.
And he made an immediate impact, helping the Kitende based school clinch the National post Schools championship when they beat St. Andrew Kaggwa SS Gombe last year in the finals.
He has been at the U15, and U17 national team set-ups in his development as a player.
At Vipers, he will be competing for a starting place with the likes of Isa Mubiru and Dissan Galiwango, who play in the left back position.
Luyima also joins a couple of youngsters who have graduated from the SMASK team to the senior team Vipers in recent times.
Among these are Bobosi Byaruhanga, Najib Yiga, Karim Watambala, Frank Tumwesigye Zaga, and Luyima will be hoping to make his presence felt just like some of his colleagues who have made it to the senior team.
