Kitara Confirms Signing Paul Mucureezi

Fufa Big League side Kitara FC have confirmed the acquisition of attacking midfielder Paul Mucureezi.

Mucureezi joins the side as a free agent having ended his spell at Vipers earlier this month.

And his official unveiling was made official via the club’s social media handles on Saturday.

The statement for Kitara reads.

“🚨 It’s Official 🚨
We have finalized the signing of Paul Mucureezi and he is officially a Royal!!

The details of his working contact & duration will follow later next week.”

Mucu, as commonly known by his peers had joined Vipers back then in 2020 from Mbarara City on a three year’s deal.

But his time at the Kitende based club was limited due to injuries and the stiff competition at Kitende.

And at the start of this year, Mucureezi opted not to renew his contract in a bid to find more game time and greener pastures elsewhere.

At Kitara, he becomes the second signing in this January transfer window after pacy winger Godfrey Lwesibawa who joined the club recently.

His arrival will give Kitara more options in the attacking force as they seek to fill the void left by Striker Patrick Kaddu, who joined Kenyan side Gor Mahia recently.

Earlier this week, the club suspended their head coach Mark Twinamatsiko but strong reports are linking Sam Simbwa to take over at the hoima based club.

With the acquisition of an experienced Mucureezi, Kitara, who are leading the Big League standings after the first round are targeting a return to the Uganda premier League ever since the 2020/21 season.
