*Algeria 1-0 Libya

Algeria got their CHAN tournament off to a good start with a 1-0 win over Libya on Friday.

Aymen Mahious scored the only goal of the game at the new Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.

Aymen was brought down in the box by Libyan goalkeeper Muad Allafi in pursue of a poor back pass from Aboulqassim Rajab.

And South African referee Tom Abongile pointed to the spot for Aymen to slot home in the 57th minute.

Libya who barely threatened in the first half, came to life after going a goal down and thrice came close to finding a leveller.

Ali Ramadhan struck a post, Omar Alkhja was denied by the keeper from a distance while Talal Farhat sent his freekick, at the box edge, into the wall.

Algeria move top of the table with three points while Ethiopia and Mozambique will be in action on Saturday in the other Group A game.
