Bruno Bunyaga Reveals Targets After Joining URA

New URA FC striker Bruno Bunyaga has revealed his personal targets after sealing his move to the Tax Collectors.

The Masaza Star boy was officially unveiled as a new URA player on Wednesday this week on a two year’s deal.

In his first interview at the club, Bunyaga first expressed his delight for joining the Tax men.

“It’s really a great pleasure joining a club like URA with a great history, Bunyaga told the club’s media.

He added ” It is going to be a good platform to showcase my efforts and hard and to show my potential”

Bunyaga’s new home, URA FC will be his first Uganda premier League club in his career.

Before his new move, the fast rising striker featured for Bushenyi Veterans, a Western regional side.

But for many people in Uganda, Bunyaga’s name has been known in the Masaza Cup competition where he has been scoring goals in and out.

He started at Buvuma (2020) and played two stints at Buddu (2021 and 2022).

At Buvuma, he scored 3 goals in 4 games. He won the Masaza Cup in 2021, finishing as joint top scorer with 6 goals in 7 matches.

In recent times, Bunyaga also featured for St. Lawrence university and he emerged as the top scorer with 13 goals as they lost to Uganda Martyrs University last year in the finals of the University football league held at Lugogo.

On his arrival, he finds URA in a poor state as they have struggled since the start of the season but Bunyaga is optimistic that things will turn around for them.

“I have come to URA in its trying moments and I hope to work with my teammates, help the team score goals and bring back URA where it belongs.”

Asked about his targets as a player, Bunyaga said ” if I get first team football, I will score goals and deliver”

Bunyaga will be expected to fill the void left by forward Derrick Nsibambi, who left for greener pastures in Oman.

Gifted with pace, an eye for goal, and good first touch, Bunyaga’s addition will prove to be a big addition to URA as they seek to bounce back in the second round that gets underway in February.
