Seven were crowned the best of December as Fortebet Real Star Sports Awards continued to reward excellence.

The awarding ceremony was held on Tuesday at Route 256 in Lugogo for the awards sponsored by Fortebet Uganda and Jude Colour Solutions.

Patrick Kaddu was named the best footballer in the concluded month of December where he scored four goals.

The Striker beat Kitara teammate Edson Agondeze and Vipers Winger Milton Karisa.

Kaddu’s award was picked by his wife.

In Netball, Prisons Shooter Christine Namulumba Kango beat Barbra Namukwaya (Police) and Faridah Kadondi (Weyonje) to the best of the month.

Veteran Spinner Frank Nsubuga who scored 88 runs in seven innings and picked 17 wickets in 40 over for Cricket Cranes in Rwanda at the East Africa T20 Series, won the best Cricketer of the month.

He edged Simon Ssesazi and Janet Mbabazi to the gong.

Matovu Ukash of Lubya/Cobap Boxing Club who defeated Owen Kibira in Boxing Champions League final, was named the best boxer.

Ukasha won the award ahead of nominees Shafic Lusojo (Lukanga) and Joshua Tukamuhebwa.

In Badminton, Fadilah Shamika was named the best after winning three gold medals (Singles, Doubles and Mixed) in Mauritius, and also won silver at African Junior internationals in South Africa.

Abed Musa Bukenya and Tracy Naluwooza were the other nominees in Badminton category.

Prisca Chesang beat Joshua Cheptegei and Martin Kiprotich to the best Athlete of December.

Chesang won the San Silvestre 10km Race in Madrid in a time of 30:19, and she also finished second at the Tororo Cross Country championship.

The Best Rugby Player award went to Chris Lubanga of Heathens who scored 36 points to help his side win the Uganda Cup.

He fended off competition from teammate Joseph Oyet and Conrad Wanyama (Pirates)
