Bruno Bunyaga: Masaza Star Joins URA FC

Uganda premier League side URA have officially unveiled Masaza Cup Star boy Bruno Bunyaga.

Bunyaga joins the Tax Collectors on a two year contract deal and his official unveiling was made official on Wednesday via all the club’s social media handles.

“The wait is over, Bunyaga Bruno Junior is a #TaxCollector #MaGoal #WelcomeSon,” reads a post on URA social media handles.

At URA, it will be Bunyaga’s first Uganda premier League club in his career.

Before his new move, Bunyaga previously featured for Bushenyi Veterans a side that plays in the regional.

But his name has been known from the Masaza Cup competition while featuring for Buddu where he has been scoring goals in and out.

He was a key player as Buddu beat Buwekula in 2021 at Kitende to win their second Masaza Cup title and they already in the final where they will face Busiro this year.

Also, Bunyaga was the top scorer with 13 goals for St. Lawrence University as they lost to Uganda Martyrs University in the finals held last year of the University football league.

At URA, he becomes the second signing in this transfer window after Lanky defender Joshua Lubwama who recently joined the Tax men.

Bunyaga’s immediate task will be to fill the void left by Striker Derrick Nsibambi, who left the club for greener pastures in Oman recently.

Gifted with pace, an eye for goal and a good first touch, Bunyaga’s acquisition will prove to be a big addition for URA, who have struggled for goals and endured a poor start this season in the Uganda premier League.
