Kitara failed to collect maximum points on the road after a 1-1 draw with Soroti in a FUFA Big League encounter at Soroti stadium.
Striker Patrick Kaddu opened up the scoring as he put Kitara FC in the lead but his early second half goal was not enough to help Kitara secure maximum points in Soroti.
Lawrence Olaboro equalised in the 49th minute of the game to level the scores as Soroti City.
But Kitara maintained their top of the table lead despite dropping two points to move to 27 points from 13 games.
They are joint-top, but with a better goal difference of 23, with NEC FC.
Kitara FC will return to action against Adjumani TC while Soroti City will be up against Luweero United.

NEC on the other hand registered a 1-0 win against Luweero United away from home with Ivan Kamoga scoring the only goal of the game.
The other promotion chasers Mbarara City, squandered a huge chance of going top after a 2-2 draw against Adjumani City FC at Paridi Stadium.
Mbarara City now sit in third place with 26 points from 13 points.
Mbarara City will hope to make amends when they welcome Kaaro Karungi on match day 14 whereas Adjumani TC FC will be up against Kitara FC.
