2023 NBL Season Kickoff Dates Revealed

Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) has confirmed the dates for the new 2023 National Basketball League season.

The season will get underway on March 10 2023, at a yet to be confirmed venue – but possibly Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Lower Division will start the following day.

The League fixture will be released on February 28.

Earlier, the registration of teams and players transfers will start on February 1 at FUBA offices in Lugogo.

The teams will have a chance to fine tune for the new season at the UCU Invitational tournament due February 25-26 in Mukono.

The Second round of the league will begin on May 12 and the playoffs will get underway in July before ending in September, per the FUBA Activity Calendar.

It’s strong to note that City Oilers beat Nam Blazers 4-3 in seven game series finals to win their eighth league title in a row.

UCU Lady Canons dethroned JKL Lady Dolphins after game seven as well, to win the Women’s Division.

Victoria University, Falcons and Tropical Royals were relegated to Lower Division, while Kampala Rockets and Rezlife Saints are the newcomers.

In the Women’s Division, A1 Challenge and Nkumba Lady Marines went down, replaced by JT Lady Jaguars and Kampala University Ladies.
