Wakiso Giants 1-1 Arua Hill

Gaddafi FC beat URA FC 2-1 in a league game held at Kakindu stadium on Tuesday.

First half goals from Andrew Waiswa (penalty) and Mahad Yaya Kakooza were enough as the Wasswa Bbosa coached side ended the first round on a winning note.

Substitute George Senkaaba scored late in the game as the Tax Collectors suffered another defeat on the road.

The win, six for Gaddafi this season ensured that they ended their first round on a high. They now move to 21 points but remained in the 7th position.

For URA, their winless streak continued as they suffered their fourth loss of the season.

Waiswa put his side ahead in the 19th minute, scoring from the spot after URA defender Najib Fesali had handed the ball in the area.

With a goal ahead, Gaddafi kept on pushing and it paid off in the 30th minute when Kakooza’s long range effort beat URA’s goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi for the second goal of the day.

After the break, URA barely threatened and couldn’t break a well organized Gaddafi side.

But off the bench, Ssenkaaba pulled one goal back with four minutes to play but his goal could not save his side on the day.

Victory ensured that Gaddafi bounced back to winning ways having lost their previous to UPDF. They now moved to 21 points and will be seeking to build on that when the second round gets underway.

For URA, it was another poor outing for them as they failed to stage a better performance. They stay 11th on the log with 14 points collected from 14 games and they must wake up if they are to save their season in the second round.
