Preview: Vipers Aim To End First Round on High.
Holders Vipers will be seeking to end league’s first round to top of the table when they visit Busoga United in a league game at Njeru.
They are second with 27 points, just two adrift of leaders KCCA, meaning that they have to win and hope KCCA fail to beat Bright Stars.
They are visiting Njeru at the back of a vital 2-1 win over fellow contenders BUL, a result that saw them return to winning ways after a previous goalless draw against Express
They only have two wins in many outings made this season, both 1-0s against URA and Blacks Powers, which proves how inconsistent they have appeared this season on the road.
The skipper Milton Karisa admitted how inconsistent his side has been but he believes that the more they play the better they will get.
“It has been an intense start to the season, it has been quite hard to get the rhythm with a few players being out and not getting a settled line-up. That is something we have to deal with.
“We have shown very good performances this year, but we haven’t had that consistency this month and that’s something we need to improve.
“I think the next game is always the one we focus on and one where you can start a good run and get that consistency and confidence back.
“I think the performances we have had, some very good performances this year as well, so we know it’s not too far off, but it’s important we keep delivering every game.”

However Vipers is yet to lose a match against Busoga United since 2017 when they lost 1-0 at Kyabazinga stadium which still remain Vipers only loss to Busoga in many meetings.
Last season at Njeru, it ended 4-1 courtesy of Yunus Sentamu, Ibrahim Orit, Cesar Manzoki and Aziz Kayondo Strikes which canceled Anwar Ntege’s opener.
Busoga United will be looking foward to going into the league break having closing the relegation gap.
They sit 14th on the log with only six points, five points adrift of safety.
Despite losing to Arua Hill and KCCA in their last matches, they have shown a lit bit of improvement in their performance since beating Wakiso Giants 3-2.
And their target man Laban Tibiita, believes that his side has done good homework and rectified all possible mistakes to frustrate Vipers.
“I believe we have prepared enough for the game. The coaches have strategized in depth to see that we win our game against Vipers.
“The boys are all fit and in high spirits to get going for the win getting the momentum from our previous game . We rectified our mistakes and look forward for a better result in this one “.
However, they have only managed one win in many matches at home, it’s the only side which is yet to register a draw result this season.
