*Vipers 2-1 BUL
*URA 1-1 SC Villa
*Arua Hill 2-1 Bright Stars
Striker Cromwell Rwothomio finally scored his first Vipers goal to help the side beat BUL in a closely contested league affair at Kitende.
Rwothomio who joined the Venoms from URA, scored what proved to be the winner after Milton Karisa had leveled matters.
BUL had taken the lead through Karim Ndugwa but the Visitors failed to capitalize on a good start.
Ndugwa’s goal was a thing of a beauty; He saw goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora off his line to loop him with a long-range effort.
But BUL’s lead was short-lived when goalkeeper Saidi Keni punched out Bright Anukani’s effort for Karisa to pounce on a rebound.
And Rwothomio completed a comeback when he slotted in from close range after he was picked by Anukani.
Vipers could have won by a better margin but Anukani had his penalty saved after Douglas Muganga shoved Karisa from the back.
Rwothomio missed a couple as well including a tap-in from Issa Mubiru’s cross, and couldn’t head home with a goal at his mercy after a well-weighed Karisa cross.
Karisa also missed an easy one after he was set through by a no-look pass from stylish substitute Frank Zaga Tumwesigye.
Vipers return to winning ways after that goalless draw against Express at Wankulukuku and close the gap at the top from KCCA to two points.
It’s the third loss for BUL, who remain on 24 points, having started the day level with Vipers.
What Next – Vipers visit Busoga United on December 20 while BUL welcome Maroons the following day, with both games at Njeru.
