It is a top of the table clash as Mbarara City welcome Leaders Kitara FC at Kakyeka stadium on Thursday.

The two sides, who have been in fine form have set up an early pace in this year’s FUFA Big League season.

Mbarara City currently in the second position with 19 points are just a point below leaders Kitara FC.

And on Thursday, the hosts Mbarara City will be seeking to leapfrog the Masindi based club if they pick maximum points on the day.

They come into this game having thrashed Kyetume 3-1, a game that ensured they picked their fifth win of the season.

They are yet to loose any game this season and remain the only unbeaten team so far and they will bank on that to get the needed points against Kitara.

Their leading top scorer, Henry Kitegenyi (9 goals ) will be tasked to lift up his side once again on thursday.

Meanwhile, the visitors Kitara will be seeking to extend their lead at the top when they take a visit to Kakyeka.

They come into this game having thrashed Ndejje University 5-1 in game they looked brilliant throughout.

That win also ensured that they picked their 6th win of the season and extended their good run at home.

But the visit to Kakyeka presents them a big test as they face a side that is hungry to leapfrog them at the summit.

Speaking ahead of the game, Kitara FC head coach Mark Twinamatsiko anticipates a tough challenge but is hopeful for a positive result.

“We have prepared ourselves well and have the quality in our team to challenge our opponents. But we will take nothing for granted. We have respect for them and and know how they have been performing at their yard but we are set for the game, he told the club’s media on Wednesday.”

This season, Kitara’s main man Patrick Kaddu, who is their leading top scorer with 10 goals will be called upon to help his team on thursday.
