UPL Monthly Awards: Ssenkatuuka, Robertinho Scoop November Gongs

Bright Stars striker Nelson Ssenkatuuka and Vipers head coach Roberto Oliviera were named the best player and coach for the month of November respectively at the Uganda Premier League monthly Awards held at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo.

Nelson Ssenkatuuka saw off competition from Wakiso Giants midfielder Ibrahim Kasule and Gaddafi FC striker Alex Kitata with a 57% vote.

Ssenkatuuka scored five goals and assisted once with three man of the match Awards as he helped his side Bright Stars bounce from two consecutive losses they suffered at the start of the month of November to win three consecutive games.

Bright Stars lost 1-0 to SC Villa at home and 3-0 away against Gaddafi but they went on to record three consecutive wins, 2-1 against Onduparaka, 2-0 against Express and a huge 2-0 against title contenders BUL FC as they ended the month of November.

Ibrahim Kasule came close with 3 goals scored and 3 assists with one man of the match award which saw him gather a 33% vote whereas Alex Kitata managed an 11% vote for his five goals scored with just one man of the match award.

Roberto Oliviera who managed to guide Vipers to a massive run in the month of November as they played seven games and won six with one draw saw off competition from Wakiso Giants head coach John Ayala Luyinda and KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso to win the November gongs.

Vipers played the most games in the month of November as they were trying to catch up with the rescheduled games they missed due to their involvement in the CAF champions League.

They managed to score 13 goals and only conceding once in their seven games played which has seen them occupy the second position on the log with 23 points from the 11 games played.

Wakiso Giants head coach John Luyinda Ayala was the closest with his six games played in the month of November winning four and drawing the other two which saw his side take a feel at the top of the table for a couple of weeks.

Morley Byekwaso only managed to guide his side KCCA FC to an unbeaten run of five games in the month of November winning four and drawing once against URA at home.
