Preview: All Eyes On Allan Kayiwa
Allan Kayiwa will be the centre of attraction as Express welcome rivals Vipers in a league game at Wankulukuku.
Kayiwa left Vipers in June this year, ending a three-year barren spell at Kitende since joining from Tooro United in 2019.
The Winger failed to command playing time at Vipers and will have a point to prove when he meet his former bosses.
He has had a great start at Express where he has scored five league goals, playing as a forward.
Kayiwa has been out in recent games but made a cameo appearance in the loss against KCCA at Lugogo and will be expected to return to the starting XI.
The Red Eagles have lost their last four league games and will be targeting nothing but a return to winning ways.
“Vipers are the defending champions and they are one of the best-performing teams in the league so far and it will therefore be a difficult game,” Express coach James Odoch said.
“But we find ourselves in a tough position losing four games is already worse off meaning we can’t afford to lose a fifth. We are playing well but have not mastered some patterns in the final third to be creative enough but gradually we are going to get the best out of these boys. Vipers is a good team right from the coaches to the players but we are going to be playing from home so we have to use the advantage to win the game and get back the confidence of the team.”
The Venoms on the other hand, come into this one on the back of a deserved 4-0 win over Onduparaka.
They are second on the log with 23 points, two below leaders KCCA FC who play BUL at Njeru in an early kickoff.
