•KCCA FC 3-0 Express FC
•Wakiso Giants 2-3 Busoga United
Congolese striker Simon Tshisungu Kankonde came off the bench to score his first goal for KCCA FC as they defeated Express 3-0 to regain their spot at the top of the table.
Moses Waiswa opened up the scoring from the spot just after two minutes after defender Derrick Ngoobi brought down Allan Okello in the penalty area.
Charles Lwanga, another second half substitute, completed the scoring as he powered in a shot to beat goalkeeper Dennis Otim in the 84th minute.
KCCA FC took the commanding lead as they pressed the Express FC back line to play into their own half forcing Joseph Data to lose the ball to Rodgers Mato who found Okello in space.
Okello was fouled by defender Ngoobi as he tried to penetrat into the box, leaving the referee with no option but to award a penalty in the 2nd minute which was converted by Waiswa to put KCCA FC in the lead.
KCCA FC could have doubled their lead but goalkeeper Otim was so instrumental as he made a vital save to punch away an acrobatic effort from Shaban Muhammad as he connected with a cross from Mato.
Express FC came back stronger in the second half as they dominated more of the game and created a couple of chances but they were not clinical enough and failed to convert.
A win for KCCA FC ensures that they return back to the top of the log with 25 points ahead of Vipers who sit second with 23 points.
Express have continued with their poor run as they are now four games without a win and they will return to action as they host Vipers on Tuesday.
What Next – KCCA FC will return to action as they visit BUL FC on Tuesday 13th December in an early kickoff at 2pm in Kakindu stadium in Jinja.
