Preview: Wakiso Giants Seek To Bounce Back

Wakiso Giants will be targeting return to winning ways when they welcome struggling Busoga United at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakissha.

With 21 points, the Purple Sharks are 4th on the table and can go top with maximum points if KCCA fail to beat Express.

They come into the encounter on the back of a 2-1 loss against BUL, and a match against struggling Busoga United hands them a good opportunity to return to winning column.

Wakiso coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda is confident that his charges are ready to bounce back: “We lost our previous game against BUL and we have ironed out the mistakes that made us lose.”

“We play a team that has gone many games without a win and they will be desperate and aggressive but we have a motivation factor which is playing at home where we haven’t lost any game.”

Wakiso won last season’s fixture 1-0, through Frank Ssebuufu’s late winner.

Besides their quest to beat relegation, the Visitors will be looking forward for the first away win in four games.

They are winless in their last three matches since beating Onduparaka 1-0 which was their second win of the season after beating Blacks power in their second game of the season.

Busoga have lost their four outings out of the five made so far, and remain the only side yet to register a draw result.

They sit in 14th position with just three points, having been chopped three points as a price paid for hooliganism.

“We know things are currently not easy at our side but one important thing is that we still have hope and we know we can overturn this situation,” said captain Derrick Basoga.

“We are desperate for positive results, so we are ready to give in our very best.”

However, the Visitors on another negative stat, have failed to score in their last three games and they are visiting a side which has scored in its last five games.

This is their seventh meeting, Wakiso has won twice while Busoga thrice.
