Vipers head coach Rorbertinho Oliveira has lauded his players for their good display during in their win over Onduparaka on Wednesday.
The Venoms picked a deserved 4-0 win over the Caterpillars in a game they looked lively throughout at home in Kitende.
While speaking after the final whistle, the Brazilian gaffer expressed his delight after the victory and praised his players for the fantastic display.
“It’s a good result, three points but we played our style. Vipers have their own style of playing and for a long time, I give priority for playing well. I’m happy for these three points, he told the pressmen after the game.
It was a brilliant performance from Vipers, who were playing without their injured star man and current leading top scorer Yunus Sentamu.
Bright Anukani opened the scoring in the 20th minute from the spot after Onduparaka’s Gasper Adriko blocked Karim Watambala’s effort with his hand in the area.
Watambala made it two moments later before Ibrahim Orit and Milton Karisa scored in the second half to seal a deserved win for the Venoms.
But before the Onduparaka win, Vipers had lost to Gaddafi FC 1-0 in Jinja, on a day they looked blunt upfront .
And Oliveira, following Wednesday’s win, has hailed the good field of play at Kitende unlike other stadiums.
“It’s good to play in a good field, good pitch because football is hard. You can’t be in a poor field and expect much from that.”
Victory ensured that Vipers moved top of the log with now 23 points after 11 games so far.
Up next for Vipers will be a trip to Wankulukuku on Tuesday 13th as they take on Express FC.
