*Preview: Maroons Out To End Winless Streak
Maroons will be targeting to put an end to a five-match winless streak when they host Gaddafi in a UPL game to be played at Luzira.
The Hosts who never won any game in the month of November, started December on a backfoot following a 1-0 defeat against SC Villa last Sunday.
They last won on October 28, which was a 1-0 victory against KCCA FC, which marked their only second win of the season so far.
They have since managed only two draws since which saw them slip to 11th with 10 points from as many games and they host Gaddafi after only two days of recess.
This puts Mohammed Senfuma’s job in jeopardy given the demands of the club.
But defensive midfielder Ronald Orombi believes that the side is going to bounce back.
“We are aware of our poor run and as players we’ve come together and looked for solutions that we hope are gonna help us in the game,” said Orombi.
“We realise that the only difference in us footballers is just our willingness to give in our very best in every game and it’s what we’ve worked upon. Tomorrow expect a high performance culture from all of us.
“Gaddafi beating vipers doesn’t scare us at all because we also beat kcca and lost the games that followed, same can happen to them, like I said the only difference in us all is the character and that character is what we want bring out better.”
Gaddafi visit Luzira with their heads high following their win against league holders Vipers in their last game.
The result saw them move to eighth position on the log, with 15 points from ten game, and they have a chance to move as far as fifth if they win.
They will also be looking forward to recording their first back to back win of the season.
However, in their five outings this season so far, they managed only one win which was 1-0 against neighbors Busoga United.
And they only managed to score only three goals in those five outings and conceded seven.
But their talisman and UPL player of month nominee, Alex Kitata is more confident about positive results as he sets his eyes on the golden boot.
“Just know we want to win this game so bad like any other game, and we are going for that nothing else,” Kitata said.
“All my goals are a result of team work, I don’t have any sole effort goal, so if we continue doing that I know I will score more goal because I believe in my self and my target this season is 10+ goals”.
This is their first meeting in the top flight but the two have met twice back in Big league and Maroons won both encounter by 2-0 each.
