Preview: SC Villa Seek return to winning ways

SC Villa will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways when they host Maroons in the Uganda Premier league match at Akii-Bua stadium in Lira.

SC Villa had a better run at the start as they only lost one game in the first five but they have encountered a terrible performance in the month of November winning just twice and losing the other three games.

They come into the Maroons game on top of a back to back loss – Lost 2-0 away against Vipers before falling 3-0 to KCCA.

This is the second game for SC Villa in Lira as they serve their ban of playing home games away from Wankulukuku.

SC Villa vice captain Gift Fred has anticipated a tougher game against Maroons but remains positive of collecting maximum points:

“We are in a good moods as we travelled earlier and had enough time to rest, we are prepared to face Maroons though it won’t be an easy game.

“Maroons is a better side but we are ready to fight for a win as we have lost the last two consecutive games. We have some player returning from injuries and suspension and I think we shall play our hearts out to win this game.

“We have been conceding alot of goals and we have worked on our defending and I think we should be able to improve on that as a team heading into the Maroons game.”

SC Villa have managed to score just six goals and let in eight goals from the ten games they have played.

The Jackson Magera coached side will find a hard time as they face a stubborn side of Maroons who come into this game after picking up a 2-2 draw against URA FC in their last game.

But the Luzira based side is yet to win a game away from home, picking up just two points from the four games they have played.

SC Villa currently occupy the 8th position on the log with 14 points from ten games as Maroons sit 11th with 10 points from nine games.
