Preview: Express Seek Return To Winning Ways

Express will be hoping to return to the winning column when they welcome Arua Hill in a league game at Wankulukuku.

The Red Eagles have suffered successive defeats against Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants in the last two games.

And a home fixture against depleted Arua Hill hands them a chance to bounce back and keep pressure on the leading pack.

The Red Eagles sit fifth on the log with 14 points after 9 games, just a point above visiting Arua Hill.

“There is hunger amongst everyone to get back to winning ways and all focus will be on getting three points from tomorrow’s game,” Express coach James Odoch told the club media.

“Arua Hill is a tricky team and we have never won against them but hopeful we shall register our first win against them this time around. We have had tough times recently losing twice but the team has been playing well and all we need to do is continue working together as a unit.”

Without head coach Livingston Mbabazi on the touchline, work is cut out for the visitors.

Mbabazi and three others were banned by FUFA after ugly scenes in their loss against Gaddafi FC at Kakindu.

But the Kongolos will pick inspiration from their last league game that saw them recover from down to beat bitter rivals Onduparaka in the West Nile derby.

That huge victory snapped the club’s poor run of form having lost the previous four fixtures without scoring a goal.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in the league; Arua Hill won both fixtures last season, including a league opener at Wankulukuku where Robert Eseru and Rashid Kawawa were on target.
