Uganda Face Kenya In American Football

Uganda will host this Sunday, November 27 face off with Kenya in American Football in the Africa Zone Series at Legends Rugby grounds in Lugogo.

This will be the first American Football encounter hosted by Uganda.

And the President of American Football Association of Uganda Steven George Okeng anticipates the best of action on Saturday.

“It’s the first time we are having a home game and we expect to have the best action and we are going to play full contact but of course you know it’s a fun game.”

No charges for entrance at Lugogo in a game that has attracted sponsors as American Chamber of Commerce of Uganda, Crowe and Safe Boda.

Zimbabwe and DR Congo shall engage in a plug football which is a none contact game.

Uganda took part in the first leg matches held in Nairobi, Kenya with the match ending in a tie.

The team has had enough preparations ahead of the game on Sunday as they have been in camp at Trinity College Nabbingo for almost a week with 30 players making the final team.

Team captain Rohan Kamanzi expressed the team’s readiness as they head into the return leg which will be a direct route to the 2023 world continental championship.

“We are ready to play Kenya this Sunday,” he stated.

“We are home and have been preparing well for this game. All the players are physically and mentally fit for the game.”

The winner between Uganda and Kenya has a chance go represent Africa in Ireland at the 2023 World Continental Championships.
