Ghana were left reeling after conceding a questionable penalty in their World Cup opening 3-2 loss encounter against Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo went down easily from a Mohammad Salisu challenge in the second half for the referee to point to the soft.

Much to the pain of Ghana, the referee never consulted Video Assistant Review, and Ronaldo converted from the spot.

Andre Ayew restored parity thereafter when he converted from point blank range from a good cross by Muhammed Kudus.

But quick fire goals from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao put Portugal in control again.

Bukari then headed in a cross to set up a thrilling ending. And Ghana could have levelled late in added time only for Inaki Williams to slip on taking a shot after lurking from behind the goalkeeper.

Ghana will have to win their two remaining group games to guarantee a ticket in knockout – They face South Korea on Monday before Uruguay on Friday.

In the other games, Breel Embolo scored the only goal as Cameroon fell at Switzerland while Richarlison scored a brace, including a beautiful second, as Brazil thumped Serbia.
