*KCCA FC 1-1 URA FC – Lugogo
*Arua Hill 0-1 SC Villa – Barifa

KCCA FC played out a 1-1 draw against URA FC in the Uganda Premier league match at th Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Derrick Nsibambi opened the scoring for the visitors with his first touch coming off the bench before Julius Poloto scored the equaliser for KCCA FC.

It was a superb return for Nsibambi who was facing his former pay masters having played for the club for five seasons before leaving in 2018 for a lucrative deal at Egyptian side Smouha.

Both sides played out to a dull first half as they created few chances with the home side playing through the flanks mostly.

In the second stanza, Najib Fesali made a blunder as he tried to play the ball back to his goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi and the ball fell to Rogers Mato gifting him with a keeper to beat opportunity but his shot hit the far post and went out.

Alionzi was once again called into action as he made a vital save to deny Allan Okello from close range to keep URA in the game.

In the 64th minute, KCCA FC were caught on the backfoot as they went in for a corner kick and URA defended well for Kabon Living to sprint and dodge past Moses Waiswa to set up Nsibambi for an easy tap in with his first touch after replacing George Ssenkaaba.

The first goal of the game looked to be a wake up call for the home side as they added a lot of pressure in search for an equaliser and their efforts were paid off when Poloto scored from a through ball by Mato to level the scores in the 69th minute.

The home side looked more focused for maximum points but their efforts came short as striker Tisungu Kakonde missed from close range as he guided his powerful header wide.

A draw leaves KCCA FC’s title search on balance as they currently sit in the 6th position on the log with just 13 points from seven games as they trail by four points behind table leaders Wakiso Giants.

URA FC now move to the 8th position with 10 points from eight games played.
