Big League: NEC FC Seek to Bounce Back

Fufa Big league side NEC FC will be seeking to return to winning ways when they welcome Luweero United at Coffee grounds in Bugolobi on Thursday.

The Bugolobi based club lost to Kitara FC 2-0 last week on Thursday in hoima in what was their first loss of the season.

Before that defeat, NEC had enjoyed a good start as they had picked three wins and one draw in their opening games.

The loss saw NEC drop to the third position on 10 points collected from five games.

Back at home in Bugolobi, they have all their eyes on maximum points to return to winning ways.

Speaking ahead of the game, NEC head coach Lukyamuzi Michael Skills revealed that the return of some players will give them more options in the team.

“Each player in the squad is important and Mubutu coming back gives us more options and presents a good competition in the squad, so no one gets comfortable but we looking forward to having a good game team tomorrow, Lukyamuzi told the club’s media.

In Luweero, they host a side that also has sights on closing the gap at the top.

But NEC will bank on their home advantage and some of their experienced players in Captain Marvin Kavuma, Oscar Ssesazi to get the job done on Tuesday.

Meanwhile the visitors Luweero come a more rejuvenated side having won their previous game at home against Lugazi FC.

But before that win, they had lost to Booma FC 3-2 at home in Kasana in what was their second loss of the season.

Against NEC, they face a side that has had a good start in their maiden season of the Big league and more so their good run at home.

Seated in the 6th position with only 7 points, Luweero will have sights on picking a positive result so as to keep in the race of this years Fufa Big league season.
