Preview: Express Target Third Straight Win

Express are eager to extend their decent performance in the league as they visit struggling Busoga United on match-day eight of the Uganda Premier league at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.

The Red Eagles have managed to avoid defeat in their last three games picking two (Onduparaka and BUL) wins and a draw (Gaddafi) after bouncing back from their first league loss against SC Villa.

Head coach James Odoch has urged his players to fight for maximum points and make it three wins in a row.

“We know how hard Busoga United is especially when they are playing at their home but we have prepared well and all the players are determined to fight for a win,” said Odoch.

“The spirits are high in the squad having won our previous two fixtures and we shall be hoping for a third consecutive win.”

Express have put up a strong start in the league and currently sit 6th on the log with 11 points and midfielder Anwar Ntege has urged his teammates to keep up with the same spirit.

“The team has put up a strong performance so far this season and we want to continue improving our position on the table. We are playing against a tricky team who also won their last game and defeated us the last time we visited them but this time around we won’t settle for nothing less than three points.” said Anwar Ntege.

Busoga United come into this game with a positive result against Onduparaka in their previous game which saw them win away from home 1-0.

An away win is a huge boost as they snapped a poor run of performances which had seen them go five games without picking a positive result, their other league win came against Blacks Power at home on match-day two.

They currently sit 12th on the log with six points from the seven games they have played so far.

Busoga United will fancy their chances against Express having won their last league meeting at home last season.
