*Preview: The Battle of New Entrants
Maroons FC will be looking to return to winning ways when they host fellow new entrants Blacks Power in match day 8 of the Uganda Premier League at Luzira.
The Luzira-based side lost 3-0 against Vipers in their last league game and will be hoping to bounce back.
A ten-day space gives them a slight advantage against their opponent who had only three days after falling 1-0 to the same Vipers last Friday.
This is going to be their fourth game of the season at home where they haven’t lost any or conceded a single goal.
They beat Busoga 4-0 and played a goalless draw against Wakiso Giants before a 1-0 win against KCCA in their last home game.
And Maroons will fancy their chances against Blacks Power who are yet to win a game since joining top flight.
“We are working hard to bounce back stronger in this game, it’s going to be a hard one but we worked hard to see that we win so that we at least climb in upper positions on the log after dropping to 10th now,” said Maroons assistant coach Simon Ojok.
“We are trying to maintain the legacy of this club, so we are looking at this game to push us close, we are prepared in all aspects and players are in good moods ready to deal with Blacks Power.”
Maroons are currently 10th on the log with 8 points, and a win can see them climb at least three positions up on the log.
For the Visitors, Blacks Power, they will still be in search of their first win in their maiden season in the top flight.
In seven matches played so far, they have only managed two draws with both coming at home, a result which has kept them in the drop zone since.
They only managed to score just only two goals in three visits made and conceded eight during that spell.
Before this fixture, both sides had met twice in last season’s FUFA Big league where Maroons won 3-0 in the first meeting at Luzira before Blacks Power won the return leg 2-0 in Lira.
