Bright Stars will desperate to pick their first win of the season when they host a wounded Onduparaka side at Kavumba on Tuesday.

It’s been a poor start for the Stars, who are yet to win any game this season after seven games so far.

Five points out of seven games sums up how poor Asaph Mwebaze’s charges have been and they are currently 12th on the log.

And now, pressure is on Mwebaze to deliver starting with the Onduparaka game at home.

They come into Tuesday’s game having suffered two back to back losses with each coming against SC Villa (1-0) and a 3-0 defeat to Gaddafi recently.

Despite all poor run of results, Bright Stars assistant coach Tom Ssali is hopeful they will get off the mark on Tuesday.

“We have prepared very well depending on what happened in our previous games. We have tried to prepare the boys mentally, technically, they are in shape and we need to get the results starting with the Onduparaka game, he told the club’s media on Monday.

Against Onduparaka, they welcome a side that has also ensured a poor start and will be hungry for maximum points as well.

But with the recent results not going their way, Asaph Mwebaze will task his men to stage a better performance so as to pick a needed result at home.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have the same ambitions of picking their first win of the season when they take a visit to Kavumba.

Just like Bright stars, the West Nile based club have endured a poor start into the season as they are winless in the opening six games.

Onduparaka, who started the season on a negative have only managed one point from six games and are currently rock bottom.

They lost to Busoga United at Bombo Military grounds in the previous game, a loss that subjected them to a third consecutive defeat in a row.

And a few hours after that game, some of their players like Gaddafi Gaddinho, Rashid Okocha were involved in the Fufa drum over the weekend and might be fatigued to feature on Tuesday.

That only sums up a difficult Onduparaka are going through at the start of this season.

Against Bright stars, they face another side that is also hungry for the first win of the season and a big test awaits them again.

With games coming in thick and fast, Onduparaka must quickly respond to avoid early relagation battles this season.

Bright Stars are currently in the twelve position with only five points picked from seven games. (D5, L2)
