Zulus (Class of 2009) were crowned champions of the SMACK League season five on Sunday as the campaign came to its closure on Sunday at Legends grounds in Lugogo, Kampala.
Coming into the final day of the season, the Zulus held a point lead against Block Owners and they needed a victory against Outkasts to secure their title.
However, the surge didn’t start on the right track after going down in early exchanges.
But when Emmanuel Ssekandi leveled matters with a powerful effort, Zulus oozed confidence and started to take the game to their opponent.
Ronald Mujuzi, Raymond Tumuhimbise, Bonny Mugabe, and John Kimuli added one each to seal a 5-2 win and spark wild title celebrations.
Block Owners could only settle for Silver after their 2-1 win over the Devils, to finish the campaign on 42 points.
It has been a wonderful campaign for Zuluz who finished third from the bottom in the Season which was won by Alqs.
