Vipers have yet again dropped more points after a 1-1 draw with Wakiso Giants in a league game played at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakissha.

The Uganda Premier League champions needed a second half goal from Hillary Mukundane to pick a point.

Mukundane benefited from a Samson Kirya error after the goalkeeper misjudged a throw-in from Ashraf Mandela, for Mukundane to score in an unguarded net in the 59th minute.

The Purple Sharks had taken an early lead when Owen Kasule had headed in an Alex Komakech cross in the 11th minute.

The Purple Sharks

Yunus Sentamu was denied by the crossbar while goalkeeper Kirya thwarted Cromwell Rwothomio on a number of times as Vipers settled for a point.

The draw leaves Vipers with five points from four games as the side failed to build on their win against Maroons in the previous fixture.

Wakiso Giants who saw their three-game winning run snapped, are in third place with 11 points after six games so far.
