Preview: Wakiso Giants Going For Third Straight Win

After a poor start where they collected two points in three games, Wakiso Giants look like a team on form having won their last two games.

They beat Blacks Power 2-1 before an away victory against UPDF.

However, Coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda is aware that URA will provide a much better challenge.

“Winning is very important for the stability of the team and going into Tuesday’s match, we need that win,” he said.

“We understand we are playing against a team with quality and experience but we feel ready to outcompete them.

“It is our second home game and the target at home will be to always do everything to get all points.”

URA on the other hand is still blowing hot and cold having collected six points in five games.

They threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Bright Stars in their previous game, in a match that fans confronted coach Sam Timbe.

Goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi expressed the team’s readiness: “We successfully conducted our last training and are geared up and focusing to turn around the mood and results that have been running previously.”

“Of Course, it hasn’t been good and we hope to pick up from Tuesday’s game and get back to winning ways against Wakiso.

“With due respect, we want to get maximum points at Wakiso and that is what everyone has in mind.”

In their last meeting, Wakiso Giants were beaten at home 5-0 in February this year with former player Viane Ssekajugo scoring four while Ibrahim Dada was on target as well.
