Video: Mukwala Off the Mark in Kotoko’s Derby Win

Uganda Cranes forward Steven Desse Mukwala finally got his first competitive league goal for Asante Kotoko in their Monday night win over rival side King Faisal.

The former URA sharp shooter scored, won a penalty and assisted as the Porcupine Warriors picked a 3-0 win over Faisal in the Kumasi derby held at the Baba Yara sports stadium.

Mukwala opened the scoring in the 11th minute after collecting from a well crafted cross from Dickson Afoakwa.

He was then fouled in the forbidden area in the 28th minute and their Captain Richard Boadu made no mistake to score from the Spot.

Nicholas Mensah made it 3-0 in the 46th minute with Mukwala again turning provider.

It is good news for Mukwala, who had gone several games without netting his first goal in the league.

The win ensured that Kotoko picked their second win of the season after three games. They are currently sitted 5th with seven points so far.

Their next assignment will be an away game against Bechem United on Thursday 3rd November at Bechem park.

Following his brilliant performance on monday, Mukwala will be hoping that this is his first of many to come so as to cement a permanent place in the starting team.
