Gaddafi Edge Busoga United For First Win

Tuesday, November 1
*Wakiso Giants 2-1 URA
*Busoga United 0-1 Gaddafi

Steven Mungichi scored the all-important goal as Gaddafi beat Busoga United in a league derby encounter at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.

It’s the first win for Gaddafi FC this season and a sigh of relief for Coach Wasswa Bbosa who had seen his charges pick three points in last four games.

Munguchi picked a loose ball in the Busoga United area and beat a few markers before finding the bottom corner in the 70th minute.

The visitors had a chance to seal the victory with 10 minutes to spare but Amir Kakomo shot over and wide.

A delighted Bbosa briefly commented: “This is a big win for us, I am happy that we have finally won, and its always good to win with a clean-sheet. I hope we can build on this for a better season.”

But the win came at a cost for Gaddafi who lost Brian Kalumba, Mahad Yaya and Johnson Odong to injuries inside the first half.

It’s the fourth straight loss for Busoga United who are currently playing without a coach after Paul Kiwanuka threw in a towel recently.

What Next: Busoga United visit Onduparaka (November 12) while Gaddafi welcome Bright Stars (November 8).
